Left Behind: Buck Williams (Kirk Cameron), an acclaimed international journalist, is on to something big. He just doesn't know how big. After completing an assignment in Israel, a series of strange events begins to unfold. Millions of people vanish from the face of the earth with no apparent explanation. Attacking jets and missiles explode mysteriously in mid air. Chaos, fear and darkness are everywhere.Buck's eccentric friend, Dirk Burton, insists he knows why the world has plunged into anarchy. In Dirk's possession is a micro-disk that contains secret files. But when Dirk is murdered and a journalist working on the story sees a similar fate, Buck takes the micro-disk, deciding to follow his friend's lead.

Airline Captain Rayford Steele (Brad Johnson) has a different set of problems. Not only must he struggle with his attraction to beautiful flight attendant Hattie Durham (Chelsea Noble), but more importantly, upon his arrival home, he must also deal with the disappearance of his wife and son who have vanished like millions of others. Steele and his high-spirited daughter, Chloe (Janaya Stephens), are all that remain as they set out to find their loved ones at any cost. Their trail leads them to the tormented Pastor of New Hope Church, Bruce Barnes (Clarence Gilyard).

Pastor Barnes offers them a startlingly simple reason for the disappearances and worldwide chaos... a reason that has profound implications for the future of all humanity. Slowly drawn into a complex web of deceit and betrayal, Buck Williams and Rayford Steele band together in a dangerous and foreboding quest for the truth... a quest that will change their lives forever.
